My every ounce of being begin with my two children. Although my love for photography was there before they blessed my life, they sparked it all over again. My outlook on life and my photography journey has now expanded into a whole new world and it is an incredible joy. I have the ability to freeze time, if only for a few moments, and hold onto it forever.
I am not a studio photographer. Everything is on location, 100% natural light; they can be held at your home, your favorite park…or one of my favorite locations. Anything goes. Posed. Running. Fun. Organic. My style is relaxed, artistic and candid. The best time to shoot is two hours before the sun goes down, where the golden light cannot be beat.
Newborn sessions are captured in the comfort of your own home or an outdoor location, weather permitting. Newborns are best photographed within the first week of life. This lets me capture those tiny details that are only here for a short time. We will tentatively schedule your session around your due date. I ask that clients put me on their birth call list to remember to give me a call as soon as possible after your baby is born (email is fine too!). Some parents will even message me as they are going into labor or heading for the hospital. You can expect your newborn session to last about 3-4 hours. This allows plenty of time for feeding, comforting, changing and posing. I will be prepared with a large selection of blankets, props, and hats for you to choose from.
Commonsense and understanding babies and their needs is so important. They are so fragile. I never put them into positions that could danger them or in anything that could potentially break. I always work with the baby and what he or she is comfortable with. I also always have a spotter next to my babies when in a prop and regularly clone out a parent’s hand that is supporting them.
Last but not least. I want this to be fun and memorable. Breaks are welcomed and accommodated. It’s sometimes at these moments that create the best images!
I look forward to being your photographer.
